Early Language School is giving back to the community. Members of ELS are presenting Story Time at the Upton library and other libraries around Sudbury.  We are also involved in the local and French community for language talent and contest and French clubs.

We are busy planning the 2018-2019 program.  Stay tuned for upcoming events.

September 2018 : We are thrilled and honored to announce that Early Language School was chosen as a winner of  "The magic of reading in French" from the Consulate General of France in Boston.  Congratulations of all the schools in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island who won the competition with strong pedagogical projects.

March 23: Michael and Greer from the French Honor class in Lincoln, Sudbury came in our class to read a great story and make hummus with the class.  We counted, we smelled spices, we mixed all ingredients and of course in the end tasted with carrots, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, celery.  It was so yummy and so healthy.

March 22: Hannah and Rachel from Lincoln High came to read “Max et les maximonstres” to our French class.  We made crown and mask like in the book.

Where the Wild Things Are is fifty years old! Maurice Sendak's Caldecott Medal-winning picture book has become one of the most highly acclaimed and best-loved children's books of all time. A must for every child's bookshelf.
Introducing a new generation to Max's imaginative journey
One night Max puts on his wolf suit and makes mischief of one kind and another, so his mother calls him 'Wild Thing' and sends him to bed without his supper. That night a forest begins to grow in Max's room and an ocean rushes by with a boat to take Max to the place where the wild things are. Max tames the wild things and crowns himself as their king, and then the wild rumpus begins. But when Max has sent the monsters to bed, and everything is quiet, he starts to feel lonely and realises it is time to sail home to the place where someone loves him best of all.

Simon et les flocons de neige/SImon and the snowflakes - Gilles Tibo

In this charming story, Simon tries to count all the snowflakes in a snowstorm, the stars in the sky and the lights in the city.  How many can he count?  The children created their own snowman and snowflakes.  It was a delight for the library friends.

La Moufle/The Mitten - Jim Aylesworth

What happens when a little boy loses his mitten in the snow?  It is the start of an adventure!  The children at the library discovered this beautiful story and created paper mittens.

La chenille qui fait des trous/The very hungry caterpillar - Eric Carle

The pictures below were from our fun story time at Goodnow Library on October 7th.   We made a lot of children very happy by reading in French "La chenille qui fait des trous" (The very hungry caterpillar) from Eric Carle, a Massachusetts resident.
